ARSB & Bangladesh Red Cresent Society Organised a Basic First Aid Training

The Basic First Aid Training organized by the ARSB (Amateur Radio Society Bangladesh) and the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society was held on the 10th and 11th of June 2022. This training session aimed to equip participants with essential lifesaving skills and knowledge necessary in emergencies.
Objectives of the Training
The primary objectives of this training were to:

  • Provide fundamental knowledge of first aid procedures.
  • Enhance participants’ confidence and ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Educate on the importance of prompt and appropriate action during accidents or sudden illness.
  • Develop skills to address common injuries and medical situations.

During the two-day training, various important topics were covered, including:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Techniques for maintaining airway patency and supporting breathing and circulation.
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation): Hands-on practice of CPR for adults and children.
  • Wound Management: Proper techniques for cleaning, dressing, and bandaging wounds.
  • Fracture Treatment: Identification and initial management of fractures and dislocations.
  • Burn Care: First aid response to different degrees of burns.
  • Choking Relief: Procedures to assist choking individuals, including the Heimlich maneuver.
